I'm so thankful for SGW. You helped bring me to life. I'm sad to see this site go into hibernation, but even in Canada, my rage against the machine is rising like never before, so I hope you're able to find the balance you need to continue the parts of your important work that you need to accomplish while keeping your spirit centered.
Take care of yourself, Zoe. My thoughts go with you.
Thank you so much, Zoe, for all of your wonderful words and wisdom. And most of all, thank you for your compassion for others and your zeal to reframe our experience in terms of life and joy and light and strength. Reading someone else with similar experiences who sees their identity not as a burden but as a joy? Inexpressible. Your words have helped to ground me personally and encouraged me to action in self care and in my local community. They are a resource that practically all the trans folks I interact with go back to. Your work reflects your character and you are loved by many.
So thank you, sister, and take care of yourself. I can fight loudly for us both, and because of your work, I will.
I love and appreciate you so much! We all need to learn how to give ourselves the grace and space to heal, we can't let the world grind us down. I know that you're still working during this hiatus, but I'm just glad that you're prioritizing what's important!
Thank you so much for all you have written and done. We'll hold the fort, and each other, for as long as it takes to get through this. Please feel safe to step back and rest until actually rested.
Thank you so much for all of your amazing writing, I know it's been helpful to me on my journey. I understand your need to step back though - my wife recently said to me "you can't support the trans community unless you look after your own mental health first". Be safe, be well, and know that we love you for who you are.
Take care of yourself, Zoe. I know many people care about you and appreciate you. I know I do.
Though each of our situations, our paths, are unique, I don’t do yelling either. Much more is conveyed by a quiet word or expressive eyes than screaming. While I understand others’ rage, I only feel sadness, and fear. It seems we humans are at it again.
About your rage. I had this ten minute mind-meld with the woman checking me in at a local phlebotomy lab almost two years ago as I prepared for FFS. Despite the line of people waiting, we had this intense back and forth about the joy and power of being female and what a gift it was. At the end she wrote a few words on a piece of paper and handed it to me. They said, “Women Who Run With the Wolves.” If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it. Not a light read, it’s by a psychotherapist and is full of Jungian archetypes. I’d put it down about 150 pages in; I typically read several books at a time and wandered off. I picked it back up again a month or so ago after reading Amber Tamblin’s also recommended “Listening in the Dark: Women Reclaiming the Power of Intuition.” My timing couldn’t have been better; I felt like Estés was talking directly to me. I share this particularly because I think you’ll find chapter 12 of interest. It’s titled, “Marking Territory: The Boundaries of Rage and Forgiveness.”
I hope you will take time and effort to be safe and take care of your health during this difficult time for our community. For myself, I will find solace in reading your past articles until you return.
Wishing you the very best. Take care of yourself and stay safe. I'm looking forward to anything you decide to do next, no matter what it is, or when it happens. 💜
Thank you for all your insightful and kind articles! They've been very helpful to me personally, as I'm sure they've been to countless others. I hope to read your words again in the future, but until then, take care of yourself, your loved ones, and let them take care of you! <3

I’ll add this too. It brought tears when I read it. https://aridrennen.substack.com/p/they-will-not-succeed-in-breaking
As Estés writes in Women Who Run With the Wolves, “Live as if you were living for the second time.”
You’re on my mind and in my heart, Zoe. I’m sending you strength. We both know that the answer isn’t rage. It’s love.
Wishing you all the best in your new endeavor. Tend to your soul and forge onward. Hugs, Kari (transmasc non-binary, from central Illinois)

You and I seem to be feeling much the same lately.
Take good care of yourself, and know that I will be looking forward to your return when you are ready and able to do so :)
I am also considering an extended break/hiatus. My cup is also quite empty lately.
Wishing you the very best. Take care of yourself and stay safe. I'm looking forward to anything you decide to do next, no matter what it is, or when it happens. 💜
This isn't forever. it's just for now.
Thank you for everything you've done and written. Your words have been huge encouragement to me a trans woman living in rural usa.
I hope your time away is all you need and want for yourself.
